You had me at Hello.
I’m nosy. I am always dying to know who people are and how they live their lives. So, let start with some background on me so you know who you’re working with.
-I am Alex and am grateful to call Kyle, Dr. Dirck, my husband.
-Tallulah, our Lab-Pit Bull, is my world.
-My heart beats fast when brainstorming, looking at pretty stationary and traveling to new towns in pursuit to try their local cuisine.
-I am quick to say yes (when I should say no), overschedule myself and spread myself too thin.
-By day I am in sales, by night I am in my PJ’s with hot tea and a book (If I didn’t commit to something I wish I hadn’t).
-Frosting is my favorite food and I have to mentally stop myself from eating an entire Happy Joe’s Taco Pizza.
-I really like the idea of the 80/20 rule. I’d say I’m successful most of the time but then there are times where I fall flat on my face.
-My style falls somewhere between Lauren Conrad and Zoey DeChanel. I’m sure I’m absolutely horrible at putting that in to action but in my head, that’s me.
-I constantly have to work on coming home after a long day and being nice to my husband. (That sounds awful) He’s so sweet to me and I’m always tired and take the day’s stress out on him. (Work in progress)
-I don’t understand how people work out, cook, look cute, get enough sleep, go on leisurely walks, spend time with friends and find time to have a clean house with no dishes in the sink. Please tell me your ways.
-I envy people who can drink caloric drinks and eat whatever they want.
-I don’t eat or drink artificial sweeteners anymore and I try not to eat too much gluten or eat much out of a bag or box. I’m not running to be the winner of a Paleo diet championship or heading to the Crossfit Olympics. Personally, what works best for me is doing my best most of the time. I fail a lot but it seems to work better than anything else I’ve tried.
-I never feel like I have cute clothes.
-I have naturally frizzy hair. I am NOT one of those women who is pretty when she wakes up.
-I began budgeting our finances in 2011 and am proud of getting to where we are but some days still feel like we’ll never get ahead. I think that’s how it may always feel and these wealthy people are good fakers.
-I thought we would get pregnant on our wedding night and here we are over two years later. It’s been a very humbling experience. More about that later.
-I’m super family oriented. Kyle would say I’m obsessed with my parents and viseversa. I really can’t argue with that. #onlychildsyndrome
Here is where I’ll post about doing life. Every now and again you may hear a little about Chiropractic but don’t count on seeing my husband on here. His passion takes place in his office, creating genuine relationships with his patients and caring for them. And that, I find admirable.
